Tried and found wanting

It appears in the background of mutual embrace of govt with the opposition there are ominous forebodings. Both the leaders of the govt and opposition i.e., Mian Sahib and Zardari sahib failed to break the logjam over KBD in their repeated tenures which proved that they had ample chance to make only new amendments in their own interest but could not make a valiant offer single-mindedly to forge a consensus on KBD which has led to the brewing storm over water and power shortages that bedevil the economy of the country. They have been tried and found wanting.

We have been forced to import 1,000 MW of power from Iran as reported recently while the 70,000 MW of hydel potential lies dormant and unexploited. While all kinds of agreements and compromises are made to strength the common unholy nexus between the govt and the opposition, there is least concern shown to store water and generate affordable power for the people. Promises are made to remove load shedding by 2017 but the cost of such power is never told as importing power would not be economical for the common man who has been thrown in the gutter while the rulers amass wealth at the cost of millions of poor people.
