In their special messages for Pakistan Day, Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leaders Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi have said that national solidarity and safeguarding national security is the most important demand of the time and responsibility of every Pakistani.
The leaders said that Pakistan Day was a matter of great pride for every Pakistani and especially for members of Muslim League as on this day Muslims of the subcontinent had pledged to secure a separate homeland for themselves under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
They said that the Quaid established Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the basis of two nation theory just in seven years, adding that the nation should reiterate its commitment to safeguard ideological basis of Pakistan, defend its security and work for its progress and prosperity.
They further said that the nation should pledge to put aside all political, personal and sectarian differences and combine its energies in making Pakistan economically and defence-wise strong and turn it into an Islamic welfare state.
They said that all the internal and external threats and challenges could be overcome through national unity.
They said that it was the duty of every Pakistani to give preference to the national interest and the country over personal and political interest and work with same commitment and spirit which our elders had displayed during the Pakistan Movement.
