OVER 400 SIXES IN A SINGLE WORLD CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME

As many as 430 sixes were smahsed in the 90 innings of 45 matches in this World Cup sofar which is a new record of most sixes in a single edition of World Cup.

One hundred and three players hits these sixes with West Indian Chris Gayle topped the list with 26 sixes in six innings of as many matches. South African Abraham de Villiers smashed 20 sixes in six innings of seven matches while New Zealand’s Martin Guptil hit 14 sixes in seven innings of as many matches.

West Indian team hit the highest number of sixes in this World Cup. Their nine batsmen smahsed 68 sixes in seven innings of as many matches while South Africa’s seven batsmen hit 50 sixes in seven innings of as many matches.

Zimbabwe conceded the highest number of sixes in this tournament sofar. As many as 52 sixes were smashed against Zimbabwan bowlers. Ireland’s bowlers conceded 43 sixes while 40 sixes were hit against West Indian bowlers.
