Karachi Police Additional Inspector General Ghulam Qadir Thebo has said that the crime rate has decreased in the city due to successful security operations. Thebo fears terror attacks on Pakistan Day. He said that the security plan for Pakistan Day has been finalised.

He added that law enforcement agencies are placed on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.

It should be noted that the day would be celebrated with national zeal on Monday whereas federal capital Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also been placed on high alert.

The Pakistan Day parade is being held on Monday after a gap of seven years.

Talking to media in Karachi on Sunday, he said Karachi would be made abode of peace through joint efforts of all law enforcement agencies. He called for an end to the ‘Thana Culture’ in the city.
