PPP’s Karachi chief Abdul Qadir Patel sacked

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi Division President Abdul Qadir Patel has been dismissed from his post on the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Representative of PPP’s Sindh chapter Waqar Mehdi said in a statement on Friday that the CM’s directives over Patel’s resignation have been implemented with immediate effect.

He said that Chief Minister Shah, who also holds the office of PPP’s Sindh President, had issued the directions to the party’s provincial secretary general Taj Haider in this regard.

No reason for the sacking were given by the PPP representative, however, Patel had reportedly criticised the party leadership during a ceremony in Karachi’s Malir neighbourhood a few days ago.

He reportedly lashed out at the top leadership over its decision to form a fresh coalition with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
