NADRA official suspended

NADRA chairman has suspended Director-General Networks Ishfaq Ahmad for his alleged involvement in leaking sensitive data and corrupt practices.

Source said that Ahmed was also allegedly involved in issuing licences to people after taking a huge bribe from them.

The networks section in NADRA is considered the most sensitive department and the data leakage could have far-reaching repercussions.

The sources said that Ahmed was also involved in obnoxious activities and he was found in objectionable condition with a student on the premises of a university a few days back.

The university administration after detaining him informed NADRA Chairman Usman Yousuf Mubin, who initiated an inquiry into the matter. The initial inquiry found him guilty of the wrongdoing.

The NADRA chairman while taking notice of Ahmad’s wrong doings, suspended him and has ordered further inquiry against him.

Meanwhile, the NADRA chairman said that corruption and illegal activities on the part of officials will not be tolerated.
