National Assembly Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah on Saturday ruled out imposition of Governor’s Rule in Sindh.
He said that after the 18th Constitutional Amendment, the powers to impose Governor’s Rule have been transferred to provincial assemblies and the rumours that are doing the rounds in Sindh do not merit comment.
While talking to journalists, he said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) after gaining majority in the Sindh Assembly opted for a coalition government in the interest of democracy instead of going for a solo flight. He said that the ongoing Karachi operation was launched after consultation with all political parties and none of them was particularly being targeted.
While commenting on the resolution of PTI-government deadlock over the establishment of a judicial commission, he said that talks are the only solution to problems. If sit-in was a workable solution, the problem would not have persisted until now, he said.
However, the unison between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government over the issue of judicial commission is commendable, he said. Answering a question about Uzair Baloch, he said that Baloch is giving statements to take revenge from the party leaders.
