The Machh Jail authorities on Saturday requested the anti-terrorism court (ATC) Karachi to issue fresh death warrant of Saulat Mirza.
The execution of the death row convict was postponed at the eleventh hour for three days on presidential orders after his video statement in which he made shocking revelations and confessions about target killing and allegations on leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The ATC is likely to issue fresh death warrant of the triple murderer on March 24. He said execution must be carried within seven days after the issuance of death warrants.
There were reports that the execution of death row prisoner Saulat Mirza will be postponed for a period of 30 days. But Machh Jail authorities denied the reports saying that they haven’t received any such orders from Interior Ministry.
Earlier, Saulat Mirza was scheduled to be executed on March 19 at 5:30am.
