Lahore burning

The recent terror attack on churches is condemnable in every sense, like it is anywhere else. Everyone knows that full scale war Zarb-e-Azb is going on. Our law enforcing agencies are making precious sacrifices to protect nation’s future but it is a multifaceted long term war. Citizens have to show resolve and patience to defeat antagonistic forces. In this whole scenario the bloody protest of the affected community is quite unreasonable. How can you allow killing and burning alive the fellow beings, looting, torching and damaging public and private properties in the name of protest? By the way who is the user of the metro bus service? Who will bear the cost of its repair and renovation? Religious leaders in Pakistan and across the border, who were so vocal upon attack on churches, are not coming forward now to speak against the terrorism in reaction.

Why is the Punjab government failing to curb the violence? It is so afraid of the Model Town incident aftermath that it could not use effective force to root out violence in Islamabad in the name of ‘dharna’ even after invoking Article 245 of the Constitution which unfortunately could not be implemented by the people responsible to implement it. The circus in the name of freedom and inqilab continued from August 14 to December 16 last year till we witnessed the Army Public School Peshawar tragedy.

Punjab was considered the best among all provinces on account of law and order situation and all round progress. Industries were moving to Punjab from Sindh. My friends and relatives, who were born and settled in Karachi, migrated to Lahore due to worsening law and order situation here. Now Lahore, Islamabad and Punjab are seemingly becoming difficult for living. The possibility of some conspiracy in the whole episode may not be ruled out.

Punjab or any other provincial government has to understand that they have to ruthlessly curb the public violence tendency even at the cost of their losing government subsequently.
