Khan pats Karak residents for standing up for rights

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday congratulated the residents of Karak district on standing up for their rights.

He expressed these views while addressing the protesters of Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who staged a long sit in outside his Bani Gala residence.

The protestors were demanding supply of gas to the residents of the area saying that the natural resource of oil and gas was being exploited from Karak but they were denied of gas facility.

Khan said that PTI had staged a demonstration of protest in the country so that the people stand up for their rights. He said that he congratulates residents of Karak for standing up for their rights. PTI chairman ensured the protesters that the problems of KP would be resolved.

He said that he respects and admires the people who stand up for their rights. Khan said that district Karak should get its due share. He said that had the local body polls held by now, the protesters would not have to come all the way to Bani Gala.

Khan said he has asked KP chief minister to call a meeting and consider the demand of Karak people. He told the protestors that if their demands were not met, they should send a delegation of four people to see him and even then the problems were not resolved, they could come in any numbers.

He said as far as he could understand, the problems of Karak people are supply of potable water, university and gas connection. He said a meeting for this purpose would be held on Saturday and they should send their four representatives where their problems would be considered. He also made it clear that people involved in gas theft would also be identified.

Imran Khan said an investor met him in Dubai who is interested to establish a Refinery in KP and the people would hear a good news soon.
