Sindh Minister for Information and Local Bodies Sharjeel Memon said on Tuesday that the chief minister had authority to appoint him as interior minister after bringing specific changes in the cabinet but he won’t do it.
The government could save millions of rupees if it fires ghost employees, he said while addressing the participants of Clean and Peaceful Sindh ceremony in North Nazimabad.
He said the number of targeted killings and criminal cases had decreased in the city. While answering a question, he said the Sindh CM had the authority to bring changes in the cabinet but so far there had been no progress towards making him interior minister. He said several ghost employees were getting salaries from more than four departments.
Memon urged the government to take action against encroachments in Gujjar Nullah. He said the CM had issued directives to increase the security of churches in the province.
