The Sindh Home Department on Monday notified about the formation of a new joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the Baldia factory inferno.
According to details, the Government of Sindh decided to revamp the Baldia Town JIT, and a notification was also issued by the home department on Monday about the matter.
According to the notification, DIG Aftab Pathan was appointed as the chairperson of the JIT in place of Khadim Hussain Bhatti. Team member DIG Mushtaq Ahmed Mehr was replaced by DIG East Munir Ahmed Sheikh.
Colonel Sajjad Bashir from the Pakistan Rangers and Deputy Director FIA Altaf Hussain were also inducted into the new JIT.
Apart from these officials, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) were also asked to name one representative each for the JIT.
The new investigation team will probe all the aspects of the Baldia factory inferno and will furnish its report within 30 days.
