Christians protest against blasts in churches in Lahore as police in twin cities continue their operations against criminals
Security in Rawalpindi was put on high alert following suicide attacks on churches in Lahore claiming over 14 lives and injuring around 78 on Sunday.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman, security was put on high on the directives of Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi. Rapid Response Force and Elite Force personnel initiated a search operation in different areas.
Strict checking of vehicles was also being made at all entry and exit points of the town, he added.
In the meanwhile, the police in twin cities continued to crackdown hard against criminals.
PINDI CRACKDOWN:
In its crackdown against kite sellers and kite flyers, Rawalpindi Police arrested 34 people and seized 1,197 kites with 108 kite-flying string rolls and registered 34 cases.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesman, Rattaamral police held eight accused and recovered 109 kites and 42 kite flying string rolls. Pirwadhai police netted seven violators for having 410 kites and 28 string rolls. Waris Khan police rounded up four kite flyers and seized 49 kites and four string rolls. Banni police sent behind the bars three for possessing 125 kites and 19 string rolls.
Similarly, Civil Line police registered three cases against the kite flying ban violators and recovered 89 kites and eight string rolls.
Sadiqabad police held an accused. Gungmandi police booked three who were netted on kite flying ban violation.
New Town police apprehended a kite seller with 75 kites. Airport police recovered 132 kites and 11 string rolls from three persons.
Morgah, Wah Cantt and city police nabbed one each and registered cases against the accused.
ISLAMABAD COPS ON DUTY:
In the meanwhile, Islamabad Police have arrested a person for killing wife, and 18 other outlaws besides recovering liquor, weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman.
According to details, Ramana Police nabbed Baber for killing his wife in area of Marabadia. Golra police recovered one 30 bore illicit pistols along with ammunition from the possession of arrested accused Saqib Mehmood. Police teams also arrested 12 person involved in immoral activities and recovered four wine bottles from their possession. They were identified as Iftkhir, Shahzad, Manzoor, Wajid, Rizwan, Aziz, Kamran, Shahfa, and lady accused Marim, Iqra, Alsa, and Sobia.
ShahzadTown police arrested four accused namely Irfan, Shahid, Ejaz and Jamshed involved in selling oil illegally. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
SSP Islamabad has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to accelerate their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements.
MOTORWAY COPS ARREST THREE:
Furthermore, taking timely action, Motorway Police arrested three professional criminals and recovered snatched vehicle.
As per details, Motorway Police received an information from PS Saddar Farooqabad that a Black Toyota Corolla Car No.LED-6002 Model 2008 had been snatched on gun point.
Without wasting a minute, Motorway Police Control Room put all the patrolling units on high alert. After an hour, SPO/IP Noman Hayat and PO/SI Gul Shahzad Ahmed stopped the said vehicle near Jhelum at G.T road and apprehended 03 professional criminals, Taimoor Khan r/o Peshawar, Fida Hussain r/o Gujranwala and Imran Ali r/o Gujranwala. Afterwards, all 03 culprits and recovered vehicle were handed over to Police Chowki Kala Gujran PS Jhelum Saddar, for further investigation.
