Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that action against terrorists is being taken under the constitution and nobody is above law.

Army, judiciary and other legislative institutions are working within the ambit of constitution and everyone must respect them, the chief minister said while talking to media after laying flower wreaths and offering prayers at the graves of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and other leaders at Bhutto graveyard in Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday. The chief minister had come to review the arrangements pertaining to commemoration of 36th death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto which is observed annually on 4th of April.

Shah said the Sindh government had full support to army and federal government and that’s why it was working in close cooperation with Rangers and police to maintain peace in Karachi. He said all powers had been delegated to Rangers and police to conduct operation in Karachi against terrorists on the demand of people.

“Now we can say that law and order situation is better in Sindh,” he claimed. He said those who used to say that there was no writ of the government in Sindh must see that people in Karachi were now walking freely up to 3:00 am in the night. Shah said that dialogue continued for one and an half year and all political parties were consulted to restore peace to Karachi and all of them gave their consent to give powers to Rangers, police and army to conduct operation in Karachi.

“The apex committee is working in all the provinces and concerned chief ministers are their heads. I am leading Sindh and all decisions are made unanimously.” The CM condemned the Lahore bomb blasts in churches and expressed his grief and deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. He said terrorism had not ended as yet, adding mere condemnation won’t do enough until the people support all the institutions which were working closely to eliminate terrorists for bringing and peace and tranquillity in the country.

Shah further said that PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari will certainly address the gathering on 4th of April but he was not sure about Bilwal Bhutto Zardari’s participation. MNA Ayaz Soomro, commissioner, deputy commissioner, SSP and other party workers were also present.
