SC summons local government secretary on April 14 in stone crushing companies’ case
The Supreme Court (SC) has summoned local government secretary on April 14 and sought reply from him in stone crushing companies’ case.
A two-member SC bench presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Nasirul Mulk Thursday took up for hearing petition filed by Rahil Kamran advocate that stone crushing companies are causing diseases.
Kamran told the court that diseases are spreading due to stone crushing and Punjab government has taken no action against the persons found involved therein. No license has been issued to companies and nearby population is suffering from respiratory diseases in the areas where these companies are functioning. Therefore, reply be sought from Punjab government on this count.
“Apparently stone crushing companies are working without license. Licenses be issued to the companies which come up to rules and regulations,” the CJP remarked.
The court while adjourning hearing of the case till April 14 has summoned local government secretary and sought reply from him.
