Probe report against senior doctor sent to health secretary

On the complaint of opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, an inquiry was conducted by three officers of BS-20 against Dr Zulfiqar Ali Siyal, an officer of BS-19 of the Sindh health department, and the report has been forwarded to the health secretary.

Syed Khursheed Shah has forwarded his complaint on February 25, 2014, to the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah demanding probe against Dr Zulfiqar Siyal, said sources.

The Sindh health department had constituted an enquiry committee comprising Dr Safiullah Abbasi, Medical Superintendent, ChandkaHospital, as its chairman, Dr Munir Jokhio, Chief Medical Officer, and Dr Khalilullah Shaikh, Senior Medical Officer, as its members. Both these officers were at that time posted in CMCH in BS-19 and on their promotion to BS-20 they were transferred and posted as District Health Officer in Shikarpur and Larkana respectively.

The enquiry committee issued letter on January 9, 2014, to Dr Siyal for appearing before the committee on June 9, 2014, but the letter was not received. Finally Dr Siyal submitted his hand written statement in which he denied all the charges.
