Top leaders of PPP and PML-N have approached Sardar Akhtar Mengal, president of Balochistan National Party (BNP), in their hunt for a consensus candidate for the slot of deputy chairman Senate.
“Our party president has received a number of phone calls [from top political leaders],” a senior BNP-M politician informed a private media outlet.
“The PPP, ANP, JUI-F, BNP-Awami and other opposition parties agree on nominating Dr Jamaldini of BNP-M for the office of deputy chairman.”
PML-N has also developed a soft corner for the BNP-M and stated that the party would have no reservations if Dr. Jamaldini is nominated.
