“Training is ongoing endeavour and the purpose of continued professional training is to maintain, update and enhance an individual’s knowledge and skills,” said Federal Judicial Academy Director General Dr Faqir Hussain during the inaugural ceremony of a one- week training course on “New Laws” for civil judges-cum-judicial magistrates from all over Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Speaking about the importance and scope of conventional and new subjects/laws such as Harassment of Women at Workplace, Domestic Violence, Intellectual Property Rights Laws, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Pakistan Protection Act, Environmental Legislation in Pakistan, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), he said, “We strive to cultivate professionalism among different stakeholders of administration of justice system during their training and orientation here at the Federal Judicial Academy so that they play their desired role effectively and efficiently in the administration of justice. It is worthwhile to mention that the high courts accord significant importance to the training of their judicial officers and with the emergence of provincial judicial academies training has become vitally important for them.”
