ISLAMABAD:
Following footsteps of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) has also decided not to attend a luncheon by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss upcoming elections of Senate Chairman.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain claimed that joining lunch is not necessary for the meeting, and if there were a conference they would surely attend.
To a question about nomination of PPP’s Raza Rabbani as Chairman Senate, the PML-Q chief said “we accept his name and now the government should also accept it.”
Imran Khan was unable to attend the luncheon due to his pre-scheduled visit to Swat.
PM invited heads of parliamentary parties today for a lunch at the Prime Minister House.
“During the meeting matters relating to the election of Chairman and Deputy Senate will come under discussion,” a statement issued from the PM Office on Monday said.
