Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight operations to Bangladesh were restored on Monday.

PIA, which has five flights operating in Bangladesh, was suspended on February 25 followed by a raid on the station manager’s house.

PIA station manager Ali Abbas’s house was raided by the Bangladeshi authorities. During questioning, it was revealed that some PIA passengers were involved in currency smuggling on flights from Karachi to Bangladesh. The station manager and his family returned to Pakistan in Feb 25 and PIA flight operations in Bangladesh were suspended on the same day.

After talks and discussions by the foreign ministry, the operations have been restored.
