Four police personnel were among five persons killed in separate incidents of violence in the country’s financial hub on Tuesday.
Three cops, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Riasat, ASI Saeed and one unidentified policeman were gunned down and a constable Jahanzaib was injured by unknown armed men near Gul Plaza on Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road. The bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).
In another incident, a cop Shakeeb was gunned down by unknown armed men near Pakistan Chowk in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.
In another incident, a youth Chand Quraishi was gunned down by unknown armed men near Landhi No. 2 area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained yet.
Separately, a man identified as Riaz was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Lyari Meera Naka.
