Addressing a function in connection with Women’s World Day on Sunday, President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the government is committed to protecting women’s rights and improving their living standard.
The president said that no nation could make any progress without empowering women. He said Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah is a role model for women in Pakistan.
He said that the government would remove lacunae in laws regarding the rights of women. He pointed out that Pakistan is following UN Conventions on women rights to eliminate gender discrimination.
Mamnoon Hussain said that development is not possible without eliminating corruption. He said there is a need to socially boycott corrupt elements.
