Infant among three die in drought-hit Thar

Three more children on Sunday perished due to drought in desert region of Sindh.

According to sources, one-year-old Kamla and two other infants died due to malnutrition in Diplo village of Tharparkar. The death toll of infants has risen to 121 this year.

The area continues to suffer food shortage causing malnutrition in mothers resulting in various health disorders in newborn children. The desert district of Thar bordering India passing through severe drought spell for a long period. Insufficient health facilities and the government neglect have multiplied the misery of the resident of the area.
