Three persons were killed over a karo-kari issue on Friday morning.
Chuttal Jatoi, Younus Jatoi and Siraj Jatoi were shot dead in village Mooso Jatoi. The villagers told reporters that Younus, son of Siraj Jatoi, killed Chuttal Jatoi as Karo. He also tried to kill his sister Nadia Jatoi but due to heavy firing she was injured along with his father Siraj Jatoi, another sister Zakia Jatoi and two other persons.
Area police remained unaware of the incident when journalists approached them over phone to know about the facts of incident. Due to non-arrival of police, the area became free for both the parties to conduct firing at each other.
The villagers complained that SHO Hatri Ghulam Shah of PS Urs Noonari did not reach the affected village where injured persons were lying rather remained sitting in his car nearby a bridge. Due to heavy bleeding, two persons, Siraj and Younus, died as they could not be shifted to hospital timely, the villagers added.
The fighting deepened as the affected parties put on fire the houses of each other, villagers further added. Even one cow and few stray dogs were also injured due to heavy firing, they said. However, one injured Zakia Jatoi was rushed to the morgue of ChandkaMedicalCollegeHospital by the villagers leaving behind two others who later breathed lost.
The villagers further stated that Nadia Jatoi, who was branded as Kari by her brother, was injured in the firing and fled from her home to a nearby jungle who was yet to be found. After four hours of the incident when the reporters asked SSP Larkana Kamran Nawaz as to how many people had so far been killed, he said that police force had been dispatched to the affected village and he was not sure as to how many persons had been gunned down in the dispute which started over honour killing.
