Rangers kill 5 Lyari gangsters in two encounters

During overnight encounters, Rangers wiped out at least five significant operatives of Lyari gang-war who were involved in heinous crimes including targeted killings of over 70 people.

According to the spokesman of paramilitary force, five gang war related suspects were killed in a clash with the Rangers in Layari Baghdadi and Reksar Lane area of Karachi. Two suspects were killed in Layari area while three were killed in Reksar Lane area.

According to the Ranger officials, the gang war suspects were involved in cases of murder, attempted murder and extortion. The killed outlaws were identified as Shahbaz alias Shebo and Nazim alias Sharabi. The duo belonged to Lyari-based Ghaffar Zikri group.

Meantime, the paratroopers also encountered another group of hoodlums in Raxor Lane of Lyari and gunned down three of them. The killed criminals were identified as Ali alias Jhatpat, Ameer Bux and Khuda Bux. The three gang-war operatives were involved in targeted killings of 74 people, kidnapping for ransom and over 20 extortion mafia activities.

On the other hand, two dead bodies were found from the bushes in Gulshan Maymar area. Both the victims were shot in the head and chest. The victims could not be identified however.

Police have arrested a person named Khalil Babar posing himself as a fake deputy superintendent of police (DSP). The suspect used to travel in a double cabin vehicle having a fake police license number plate. Police uniform, a rifle and bullets were found with the suspect.

Four kidnappers were arrested from Rizvia area in Karachi. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Shah Faisal was also among the arrested. The kidnappers had abducted a person named Tayyab and took ransom of Rs 5 lac for his release.

Citizens caught two criminals in Gulshan Iqbal area and handed them over to the police after beating the felons. Another two criminals were caught by the citizens near NIPA Chowrangi who were then thrashed by them and then handed over to the police.
