Six fall prey to city violence, 3 babies found dead

As many as six people were killed and three others injured in separate incidents of violence on Thursday while three newly-born babies were found dead in the city.

Two unknown persons, aged around 20 to 30, were gunned down by unidentified armed men near Gunna Mandi in Suhrab Goth. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

In another incident, two other unknown persons, aged around 25 to 30, were shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Saad Bin Maaz Masjid in Korangi, Allah Wala Town. The bodies were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

In yet another incident, a man, Arshad, 32, was gunned down by unknown armed men in Nazimabad Chota Maidan. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained yet.

Three newly-born babies were found dead in Ghani Chowrangi SITE, Agra Taj and Katti Pahari. The bodies were brought to Chhipa Welfare Association and later shifted to Edhi morgue.

Separately, a man, Zaheer, 55, was gunned down and Zubair, 22, injured by unknown miscreants in area of Godown roundabout. The body and the injured were brought to JPMC for an autopsy and treatment.

Meanwhile, a man, Abdul Rehman, 25, son of Badarul Rehman, was seriously injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Mewa Masjid, Sector 48-C in Korangi Ibrahim Haidri. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

Furthermore, a youth, Jahanzaib, 18, son of Lal Jahan, was injured over a personal enmity in Pakhtoon Chowk area of Bilal roundabout. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

TWO DIE IN GAS BOILER BLAST

Two persons were killed in a gas boiler blast on Thursday.

A youth, Usman, 22, son of Amanullah, and a man, Haji Yahia, 42, son of Noor Muhammad, lost their lives when a private company’s gas boiler exploded near Raees Goth in Baldia Town. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
