Girls’ school vandalized in Karachi bomb blast

KARACHI:

Two vehicles and a government-run girls’ school’s wall were damaged in a blast on Sunday, police told sources.

According to them, an explosive device weighing half a kilogram (kg) was placed near the boundary wall of Government Primary School for girls at Gul Mohammad Kalmati Goth near Murtaza Chowrangi.

SP Akhtar Farooq quoting the bomb disposal squad said that the bomb carried a safety fuse which went off in 40-45 seconds after the bomb had been placed.

The school was closed on Sunday resulting in no injuries.

The SP believed the attackers only wanted to create panic.
