The government has exempted the industrial sector from power load-shedding and currently uninterrupted power is being supplied to the industry in order to meet the export orders.
“Zero power outage is being observed to the industrial sector of the country for the last three weeks,” official sources told APP. They said the power generation situation in the country had significantly improved and only 2000 MW power shortfall was recorded.
The sources said six to eight hour power load-shedding was being carried out in the urban and rural areas of the country. They said the government had expedited work on various power projects having accumulative capacity of 10,500 MW with the assistance of China. The menace of load-shedding would be over after completion of this short-term power projects, they said.
