Pasban-e-Pakistan has exposed another case of Karachi police towards the hapless Karachiites and appealed the Supreme Court to take suo motu of the case of young social worker Abdullah Sheri.
Abdullah Sheri was illegally detained for two months, and an FIR of his arrest was registered after a magistrate raided the police station.
Addressing an urgent press conference at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Sunday, Pasban-e-Pakistan president Altaf Shakoor said that bad cops were bent to make Karachi police a dangerous mafia to kill, maim, arrest and loot the citizens of Karachi.
He said all these crimes were being done under the barb of Karachi operation, but there must be a limit to everything.
He said yet another scandal of Karachi police surfaced previous day when Zaman Town police issued misleading news to the media that a young ‘targeted killer’ Abdullah Sheri was arrested by the police and ‘illegal arms’ were recovered from his custody.
He said as a matter of fact a young social worker of Korangi, Abdullah Sheri, was whisked away two months ago by personnel of law enforcement agency from front of Awami Colony police station.
Pasban Helpline informed the Sindh governor, chief minister, Sindh Rangers DG, DIG and Incharge of Rangers headquarters of Jamia Millia Colonel Imran about the case.
Police and Rangers opted not to disclose his arrest. But all of sudden ZamanTown police the other day showed his arrest, dubbing him as a targeted killer, when a magistrate raided there and found the citizen illegally detained.
Altaf Shakoor said the black sheep present in Karachi police were trying their best to increase the distances between the Karachi police and Karachiites and were bent to fail the ongoing Karachi operation against criminals, terrorists and lawbreakers. He appealed the Supreme Court to take notice of excesses of Karachi police in case of Abdullah Sheri and do justice with his family.
On the occasion, the family members of Abdullah Sheri, Pasban Pakistan general secretary Usman Moazzam, Pasban Karachi President Shaikh Muhammad Shakeel were also present.
Usman Moazzam said due to lack of proper check and balance the Karachi police were on the verge to becoming a lawless force.
He said judiciary was performing its functions well but the corruption of police and administration had paralyzed the justice system, due to which thousands of innocent citizens like Abdullah Sheri had been braving excesses.
