Prayer leader belonging to ASWJ shot dead

KARACHI-

A prayer leader, and leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ); the revamped version of banned sectarian outfit Sipah Sahaba Pakistan, was gunned down in the metropolis on Friday.

The man, identied as Yaseen was shot dead by unidentified men near Johar Complex.

A police investigation has been launched into the murder.

Earlier in February, three men belonging to ASWJ were shot dead in two different incidents of violence in Karachi while , the spokesperson for ASWJ’s Rawalpindi chapter Maulana Mazhar Siddiqui was gunned down while on his way to a bus station in Rawalpindi.

Also on Friday, two men; identified as Saleem Akbar and Ali Haider Rizvi were gunned down in Orangi Town.

Police suspects sectarian motive behind the killings and has launched a probe.
