Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the democratic government would protect the country’s sovereignty and integrity at all costs.
Addressing the ‘Colour Award and Re-equipment Ceremony of Karakoram Eagle AWACS Aircraft’ at PAF Masroor Base, the prime minister said that Pakistan wants peace in the region and believes in the resolution of issues hindering regional development and prosperity through peaceful means.
The prime minister said that Pakistan always encouraged talks for resolution of disputes; however, it did not receive the same positive response from elsewhere. He mentioned that the international community appreciated Pakistan’s amicable and peaceful intentions and was willing to support its standpoint. He emphasised the tremendous economic potential of the region that could only be brought to fruition once peace and tranquillity prevailed.
The prime minister said that the history of Pakistan Air Force is replete with acts of heroism, sacrifices and professionalism. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) due to its feats of gallantry has made its niche among the comity of finest Air Forces of the world, he said.
