Filter plants demanded for Hyderabad

The Sindh Assembly on Monday said that the citizens of Hyderabad were compelled to drink unfiltered water, as the present filter plants were not working.

MQM lawmaker Zubair Ahmed said that the filter plants in Hyderabad have not been working. The government should release funds for their repair. Moreover, new water plants should be established to cater to the needs of the sprawling city. He said that the drainage system in Hyderabad is also collapsing and it should be improved to make Hyderabad a clean city.

On this, representing the government, Minister Mazoor Wasan said that if the mover gives him a written application he would order a probe. On this, Zubair Ahmed said he would submit 0.35 million applications from the residents of Hyderabad if they are needed to resolve the issue.

However, another minister Jam Khan Shoro said that there are two filter plants in Hyderabad and they are not enough to cater to the needs of the city and now a new water filter plant would be established in Hussainabad.
