An election tribunal on Saturday adjourned hearing of NA-122 Lahore constituency alleged rigging case till February 23.

The election petition was filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan challenging election of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq from NA-122.

Sadiq’s counsel was expected to advance his arguments/reply today on an application moved by Khan for verification of voter’s thumb impression from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

However, the case could not be heard as Tribunal Judge Justice (R) Kazim Ali Malik was on leave.

Sadiq’s counsel Barrister Asjad Saeed said the reply had been prepared but not yet filed. Asjad said that he would plead the tribunal to dismiss Khan’s application for voter’s thumb verification as the NADRA’s record was defective.
