Man found dead in Lahore airport lavatory

Body of a youth was found inside the men’s washroom at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in the city.

The deceased, identified as Shahid, was the son of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) employee Ghulam Abbas. His body was found from a washroom located on the 4th floor of the airport.

According to an initial investigation, the youth, who was prone to taking drugs, died of an apparent drug overdose. His body has been shifted to a mortuary and further investigation into the death is underway.

According to a National Drug Use Survey-2013 conducted and launched by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Punjab has the highest number of people who use drugs, with 2.9 million people using illicit substances and 260,000 injecting drugs.

Meanwhile, FIA immigration Saturday arrested 7 people deported from Turkey at Lahore airport.

The detainees were residing in Turkey through illegal method. FIA handed over Abbass, Shahid, Zainul Abideen, Asghar, Iftikhar, Irfan and Abrar to anti-human trafficking circle for further legal proceeding against the lawbreakers.
