A local court has granted bail to an accused couple in Johar Town maid torture case.

The accused Irfan and his wife Tabanda were directed to submit two surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each to avail the bail. Judicial Magistrate Irfan Anjum Gondal passed the orders while accepting a bail application filed by the couple.

Johar Town Police had registered a case against the accused couple after the Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) on Thursday recovered an 11-year-old girl, allegedly a victim of torture and illegal detention, during a raid at accused house in Johar Town. The victim was identified as Umm-e-Rubab of Sargodha who was hired by the family as a domestic servant.
