ANF celebrates Raising Day with enthusiasm

Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Saturday celebrated the “Raising Day” with zeal and enthusiasm.

The event also included wreath laying ceremony for martyrs and annual performance award ceremony of year 2014.

It was attended by officials of various ministries, diplomats, all LEAs, departments related with ANF, university students associated with ANF as well as serving and former ANF employees across the country.

The day started with special prayers and “sadqa” in morning prayers. Later formal celebrations commenced by paying tribute to ANF martyrs, by a Wreath Laying ceremony at martyrs monument in ANF.

The ceremony was attended by next of kins of martyrs, ANF officers and officials as well as invitees including diplomats, ministries, heads of related departments, organizations/ students etc. The event ended with a special collective “Dua”.

Later, raising day celebrations commenced with a “Welcome Address” by ANF DG Major General Khawar Hanif. He thanked all guests for their arrival and apprised them about performance of the force, especially achievement of 2014 i.e. a record year for ANF, drug challenges, recent initiatives, up-gradation plans and welfare projects.

While addressing the august gathering, the founder of ANF and chief guest of the ceremony Lt Gen (r) Salah Ud Din Tirmzi, presented historical prospective of the force, increase of drug threat, need for shared responsibility / unified efforts and call for modernization of force.
