Private firm gets Rs100m to run 3 govt schools

The Sindh government has given a hefty amount of Rs 100 million to a private firm M/s Book Group to run three government schools in district Khairpur, Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro told Sindh Assembly on Friday.

Answering a short-notice question of Nusrat Bano Seher Abbassi, he said Rs 100 million were given as a grant to M/s Book Group under the public private partnership. The government would also provide all required staff and facilities to the schools; however, these schools would be run under the management of the private firm. The three schools are the NazPilotSecondary School, Govt Shah Latif Boys Primary School and Govt ShahLatifGirlsPrimary School.
