Motorways police directed to follow army recruitments procedure

Senate Standing Committee on communications directed the motorways police management to follow the army recruitments procedure for ensuring merit in induction process.

While chairing the Senate Standing Committee meeting on communications on Friday, Senator Muhammad Daud Khan Achakzai said that physical and medical tests should be conducted prior to the National Testing Service (NTS) test, so that all the applicants could go for submission of NTS fees.

Senator Muhammad Muhsin Khan Laghari said that NTS was actually an effort to standardised tests for recruitments across the country. Senator Zahid Khan said that recruitments tests should not be allowed to become a source of income.

The committee recommended that recruitments in motorways police should be as per length of roads in the concerned province.

The committee also recommended an additional e-Tag booth on the exit points at Peshawar, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Lahore motorways.

The committee recommended that the e-Tag amount should be increased from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000.

Director General Postal Services Khushal Khan briefed the committee on recruitments and regularisation of daily wages and contractual employees since March 15, 2013. The committee directed the management of the postal services to submit a detail report of all the regularised employees in the next meeting.

The committee was briefed on details of recruitments made in postal services departments since June 2013, and informed about the delay in recruitments for the Motorway Police, e-Tag s systems in motorways.

The committee meeting was attended by Senators Muhammad Zahid Khan, Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamrah and Muhammad Muhsin Khan Laghari.
