The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Wednesday suspended former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza from the party’s central executive committee (CEC).

The decision was made following the controversial PPP leader’s recent outburst against party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Sources said that the party, which is meeting at Bilawal House, decided to suspend Mirza from the CEC due to disciplinary action and for allegations made against Zardari and other PPP members.

The sources also said that an official notification will soon be released over the decision.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Tuesday denied allegations leveled by Mirza and added that the former home minister had lost trust in the PPP and its leadership.
