Pakistan’s fielding coach resigns over senior players’ attitude: reports

ADELAIDE-

Upset over Pakistan team’s poor performance and attitude of senior players, the team’s fielding coach Grant Luden tendered his resignation soon after the team lost to India in Adelaide on Feb 14, reported Dawn on Wednesday.

According to the report, Luden had faced criticism by some team players over his working ways.

In another report, Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal also had a heated debate with Luden during Tuesday’s fielding session.

Luden tendered his resignation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan but, the report adds, the team management convinced him to withdraw the resignation. Khan has also directed the management to work on the issue between Luden and the players.

Luden joined the Pakistan team in May 2014 on a two-year contract. He was previously working with Bangladesh team.
