The Duchess of Cambridge will today meet youngsters and parents who use a children’s centre which helps vulnerable families.
Kate will see Action for Children’s Cape Hill Children’s Centre in Smethwick, West Midlands, where she will receive an introduction from staff and volunteers to the charity’s work.
The Duchess will also attend a private round table discussion with families who have used its services including the Sandwell Family Partners programme, which is based at the centre.
Action for Children supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people. It works with more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers each year at 650 services across the UK.
The charity runs the centre on behalf of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.
Earlier the Duchess will visit the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke-on-Trent, to see production of a mug the company has launched in support of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Kate will tour the factory and see how the earthenware products are made and decorated by hand using traditional techniques.
The factory is producing a range of mugs in support of the Nook Appeal for the hospices, of which the Duchess is patron.
