The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday dismissed the petition seeking confiscation of assets of former cricketers Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt.

The petition was filled by a citizen in which he pleaded to the court to order confiscation of cricketers’ assets because they had been found guilty in spot-fixing and damaged the name of the country.

While hearing the petition, Justice Mahmood Maqbool said that cricketers have already got the punishment of spot fixing and if he punished them again then it will affect their performance.

“They have already been punished for spot fixing and as per law no one can be punished twice for the same sin,” the judge said.

“All three players are young and by continuously punishing them, we will only hurt the national team,” the court concluded.
