The ‘sparking’ IESCO

I am a resident of Askari 2, Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi since 1993. One transformer is linked to a couple of blocks of flats. For the past more than a year or so, one phase of electricity goes missing almost on a daily basis thus disrupting the normal life of a number of flat dwellers. There’s a lot of fluctuation as well because of the ‘unprofessional’ manner in which the connectors are attached to the transformer for smooth flow of electricity.

A complaint lodged in the morning is attended to in the evening. Presently, one doesn’t need fans but then there are electrical appliances attached to this disruptive phase of electricity, a few of which got burnt because of the un-professionalism of the IESCO staff.

We, the residents attached to this defective transformer, have requested the complaint staff, the line superintendent, the SDO a number of times to carry out a complete servicing of our transformer but inspite of promises, things have not moved. The oft repeated answer is:  requisite replacement stores are not available.

Having exhausted our patience, I find no other outlet but to vent our grievances through your esteemed paper, hoping that the CEO IESCO, federal & state ministers of water & power would order an immediate action against our complaint provided they have their fingers on the pulse of the public.
