Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology organised an ‘Open House Job Fair 2015’ at the campus that showcased more than 120 innovative projects of the final year students. Students from six discipline – electronic, telecom, computer, biomedical, civil engineering and computer science – contributed their designed projects to the job fair.

The Open House Job Fair 2015 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sardar Yasin Malik, and it was largely attended by the noted industrialists, businessmen, corporate professionals and dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Muhammad Yasin Malik said SirSyedUniversity is producing the professionals of high quality whose skills and expertise is appreciated by the foreign countries as well. Particularly biomedical engineers of SirSyedUniversity have a name in Middle East countries, he said.

Addressing the open house, Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Engr Muhammad Adil Usman said that the Open House Job Fairs reflected the result of students’ 4-year education, skills and experience in tangible form. Final year projects showed how creatively charged students successfully transform their innovative ideas and concepts into cost-effective commercially viable products, he added.

He pointed out that SirSyedUniversity sustained the research-friendly environment and encourages students to come up with new ideas by holding Open House Job Fairs to promote their scientific achievements. The Open House Job Fair provides an opportunity for students to meet with a large number of employers, in one setting, who are specifically seeking students for the purpose of employment. Employers often make use of the open house as an initial screening process when they have several open positions to fill.

Chancellor Engr Muhammad Adil Usman urged students to compose their resume short in length and long in honesty, and they should prepare themselves to make a good first impression because first impression counts a lot. “You got to be confident with positive attitude to sell yourself to the organisations by stressing your skills, strengths and interests,” Engr Muhammad Adil Usman added.

Earlier, Registrar Syed Abrar Ali said that SirSyedUniversity was run on non-profit basis by Aligarians and it laid great emphasis on practical and professional know-how with strict adherence to character building and career planning.
