Punjab CM meets Qatar’s emir in Doha

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Sunday. The meeting agreed to promote Pak-Qatar relations and cooperation in economic and trade sectors.

Sheikh Tamim, while talking to Sharif, assured that Qatar will invest in various sectors of national development in Pakistan as well as extend all out cooperation in coping with energy crisis. He said that Pakistan is a friendly country of Qatar and its development and prosperity is very dear to Qatar. He said that Qatar fully realizes the problems of Pakistan and will extend full support in overcoming these problems.

The Qatar emir said that besides meeting gas requirements of Pakistan, Qatar will also continue its cooperation in agriculture, power generation and manpower sector. He said that Qatar fully appreciates the recent efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the strengthening of Pak-Qatar friendship and the positive impact of cooperation in economic and trade sectors due to these sincere efforts is being witnessed. He said that trade and economic relations between the two countries will further strengthen in future.

The Punjab chief minister, while talking on the occasion, said that Qatar is extending invaluable cooperation to Pakistan in overcoming energy crisis and expressed the hope that Pakistan will be able to get rid of load shedding with the cooperation of its friendly countries. He also lauded the cooperation of Qatar to Pakistan in various sectors of national development and resolving of energy crisis.

Sharif said that a new era of Pak-Qatar relations is beginning and Qatar is extending commendable cooperation for strengthening trade and economic relations. He said that there are vast opportunities of investment in Pakistan especially Punjab. He said that government is providing maximum facilities to foreign investors on priority basis and investors of Qatar can benefit from investment opportunities in various sectors in Punjab.

He said that a highly conducive atmosphere has been provided for investment in Punjab and all necessary facilities are being provided to the investors under one-roof.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Spokesman to Prime Minister Mussadaq Malik were also present on the occasion.
