Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with the United Kingdom, and the link between the two countries was based on mutual respect, interest and understanding.
The PM met with Member of British House of Lords Baroness Sayeeda Warsi. She had called on him at the PM House. The Prime Minister said that frequent interactions between the leadership of the two countries have helped strengthen political, economic and cultural ties. However, there is scope for further expansion of relations, he added.
Sayeeda Warsi apprised the Prime Minister of matters relating to the Pakistani community in the UK, according to a statement issued by the PM’s office.
She said that due to its hard work and dedication, the community has built bridges between the two countries while positively contributing towards improving Pakistan’s image abroad.
