Nisar inaugurates Waste Management Services in Pindi

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday inaugurated Waste Management Services in Rawalpindi that will improve the cleanliness situation of the city. The service is part of Rawalpindi Waste Management System to keep sanitary situation and cleanliness to a desired standard.

According to scope of work, the contractor will perform the functions of collection, removal and transportation of solid waste to the designated disposal sites, mechanical sweeping, sweeping of main arterial roads, streets and squares as well as such places open to public with vacuumed vehicles, mechanical washing, manual and mechanical cleaning services. This arrangement has been made for Rawalpindi and Murree.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony the Interior Minister said serious efforts are being made to mitigate sufferings of the masses and the introduction of Waste Management Service is part of the plan of the PML-N government to provide a pollution free environment to the citizens. He pointed out that relief has been provided to people by reducing petroleum prices.

The Minister further said people should recognize the elements known for hollow slogans and change of political loyalties.

The RWMC was established in July 2013 on the special instructions of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan with the vision of transforming Rawalpindi into a clean city of international standard.
