Submission of nomination papers for the upcoming Senate elections concluded on Friday.
A total of 185 candidates from four provinces, including Islamabad and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have filed their nominations. According to details, a total of 22 candidates submitted their nomination papers to contest for Punjab’s 11 seats of Senate. Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) three more candidates submitted their nomination papers for 11 seats from Sindh.
One candidate from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PML- Functional’s two candidates handed in their nomination papers for seats from Sindh. 40 candidates stood for 12 seats of the Senate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
