The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the Minhajul Quran protested outside the Lahore Press Club to protest the rising trend of the desecration of the Muslim holy sites, the misuse of the Amplifier Act and the terror attack at the Darbar of Syedna Tahir Allauddin Al Gillani Darbar Ghausia in Mach, Balochistan.

Hundreds of workers from PAT and Minhajul Quran attended the demonstration. Addressing the rally the central president of PAT Dr. Raheeq Abbasi said that under a planned conspiracy, Muslim holy sites were being attacked and all this was being done on the instructions of the government and an impression was being created that this was being done on the orders of the army.

Dr. Raheeq Abbasi called upon the army to take serious note of this conspiracy and bring an end to the illegal actions being taken against mosques and Khateebs in this regard. He said such acts will create unrest among the people of the country and will also damage the National Action Plan. He demanded the immediate arrest of those who attacked the resting sites of great Muslim Sufi Saints, including the culprits behind the attacks in Balochistan, Data Ghang Baksh in Lahore and Baba Fareed Ghang Shakker in Pakpattan. He said this is an effort to fail the National Action Plan and is in a way encouraging the terrorists.

On the occasion PAT Lahore President Ch Afzal Gujjar, Nazim of Tehreek Minhajul Quran, Lahore, Hafiz Ghulam Fareed, Shehzad Rasool, Malik Habib and other also addressed the participants. Apart from Bazm-e-Qadria, other religious organisations, and famous Muslim scholars attended the rally.

Afzal Gujjar said that no Sufi Saint’s shrine was safe from terrorism and if this continues the current rulers will not be allowed to further extend their rule and will be forced out of power by the people of the country. He demanded immediate security for all shrines in the country. He further said that the rulers must stop using the Amplifier Act for political purposes. He further said that the government is taking action against mosques from where a voice is raised against terrorism and sectarianism. He said this is an effort to encourage terrorists.
