A missionary school was vandalised by a group of miscreants in Vasant Vihar area of South Delhi early Friday.
Delhi police suspect the attack on the Holy Child Auxilium could be a case of theft as some money was allegedly stolen from the school premises and CCTV wires were cut, according to the preliminary report of the incident.
This incident of targeting a Christian establishment is the sixth in three months.
“It seems the attack happened around 3 am. Two men allegedly entered the school premises and destroyed the CCTV and then proceeded to ransack the principal’s office. No one has been injured in the incident,’’ said senior church officials, while speaking about the attack.
The school was shut down soon after the incident and students were sent home for the day. An FIR has been registered against the incident at Vasant Vihar police station.
According to media reports, there have been five attacks on churches in Delhi since the December of 2014 which led to protests and censure of the Modi government for not doing enough to protect minorities.
